A reflective film - or more accurately, retroreflective film - reflects incident, directional light back to the light source. Retroreflective film for advertising signage according to UN ECE 104 uses this effect to increase the visibility of poorly lit or hard-to-see vehicles (trucks, trailers, buses) at dusk and at night. As a reflective vehicle advertising, reflective tape ensures maximum attention of brand messages on all vehicles. Scotchlite 580 Series reflective films are highly flexible, durable and retroreflective. The lightfast and dimensionally stable films can be plotted or printed to create decorative emblems and graphics and are available in 11 colors.
The reflective films have the same color fastness by day and by night. They retain their functionality even in the rain as well as when viewed from acute angles. Scotchlite 580 Series reflective films are particularly suitable for use in vehicle advertising. They can be applied (dry!) to smooth surfaces with or without rivets, as well as to corrugated substrates. The reflective films can withstand low temperatures without cracking or tearing.
Note: The black film reflects in the color of the light source (usually white).
