3M™ Shatter Protection Film S40 (101.6cm)
The 3M™ Anti-Splinter Film S40 was developed for applications on the inside of glass panes. It consists of an optically clear, viscoplastic and age-resistant polyester film. The high tensile strength and elongation at break of the film increases the resistance of the glass to pressure, impact and shock. In addition, harmful UV-A rays, the main cause of fading damage, are largely reduced. The highly age-resistant, viscoelastic adhesive system of the 3M anti-shatter films remains permanently crystal clear so that the films are not visible after application. The colors of textiles and decorations in displays are reproduced unaltered. 3M anti-shatter films offer effective protection against injuries or damage to property caused by flying glass splinters. In the event of glass breakage, the splinters are held in place by the adhesive system. The 3M™ shatter protection film S40 is approved according to EN 12600 (pendulum impact test).
